FingerPulse Media launches “What Empowers Me” campaign for nonprofit Dress for Success Austin

AUSTIN, TX — “What Empowers Me”? That’s the question women are answering in a creative, stylish way in Dress for Success Austin’s new, organic empowerment movement on social media created by Austin-based marketing firm FingerPulse Media, Inc..

FingerPulse Media and Dress for Success Austin launched the campaign with a “What Empowers Me” video of Austin women showing off their black dresses with signs proclaiming what empowers them, like “empathy,” “compassion” and “grit” – while inviting women everywhere to get in on the fun and do the same. The black dress theme supports Dress for Success Austin’s biggest annual fundraiser of the year, the Little Black Dress Soirée (LBDS), which will be held at the Phillips Event Center on Feb. 23, 2019.

FingerPulse Media is second-year platinum sponsor for the LBDS. Founded in 2010 by CEO Jennifer Asbury-Hughes, the full-service marketing and PR firm helps clients “find your voice,” while providing results-driven marketing plans, on-call service and customized design, according to the firm’s website,

As an LBDS sponsor, FingerPulse Media donated their services to create the “What Empowers Me” video and support the campaign. All proceeds from the Dress for Success Austin fundraiser support the nonprofit’s mission to empower women in Central Texas. Hosted on YouTube, the “What Empowers Me” video encourages women to:

  1. Put on a little black dress and get fabulous.
  2. Grab a marker.
  3. Write down what empowers you (the world wants to know).
  4. Pose with your statement and take a photo.
  5. Post your photo on social media using these hashtags: #WhatEmpowersMe #LittleBlackDress. And tag Dress for Success Austin. Instagram: @DressforSuccessATX. Twitter: @DFSAustinTX. Facebook: @DFSAustin.
  6. Go online and get tickets to the Boot Scootin’ Little Black Dress Soirée
  7. Or become a sponsor.

The Boot Scootin’ Little Black Dress Soirée will feature live music, gourmet bites, cocktails and other drinks, and a silent auction, with all proceeds benefiting Dress for Success Austin.

Funds raised from the event make it possible for Dress for Success Austin to provide various programs that help empower women to achieve economic independence. They do this by providing a network of support, professional attire and development tools to help them thrive in work and in life.

Among these programs, Dress for Success Austin provides services and opportunities to help women establish a solid work history and permanently leave the cycle of poverty. Support extends beyond providing a suit to each client, to a promise of ongoing support as women enter and remain in the employment arena.
